3PE specification for anticorrosive steel pipe

3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe is used for pipes (steel pipes) in different working environments. In order to slow down or prevent the pipes from being eroded and deteriorated by the chemical and electrochemical effects of external media or by the metabolic activities of microorganisms, 2 or 3 layers of polyethylene (3PE) are coated on the outer wall to achieve pipe anti-corrosion. The service life of 3PE anti-corrosion pipe is extended by 3-5 times.


3PE anti-corrosion steel pipe polyethylene three-layer structure protective layer, also known as three-layer PE (3PE), is an advanced anti-corrosion technology introduced from abroad in recent years. Its full name is the protective layer of fusion bonded epoxy / extruded polyethylene structure. The structure is composed of the following three layers: the bottom layer is fusion bonded epoxy (≥ 80 μ m); The intermediate layer is adhesive (170-250 μ m); The surface layer is extruded polyethylene (about 2mm). The total thickness of the protective layer is about 1.8-3.7mm. In the three-layer structure, the main function of the fusion bonded epoxy powder coating is to form a continuous coating film, directly bond with the steel pipe surface, and have good chemical corrosion resistance and cathodic stripping resistance; It reacts with the active group of the intermediate layer adhesive to form a chemical bond to ensure that the overall anti-corrosion coating has good adhesion at high temperature. The intermediate layer is usually a copolymer adhesive, the main component of which is polyolefin. At present, vinyl copolymer adhesive is widely used. The polar functional groups of the copolymer adhesive and the epoxy groups of the fusion bonded epoxy powder coating can react to form hydrogen bonds or chemical bonds, so that the intermediate layer and the bottom layer form a good bond; The non-polar ethylene part has a good affinity with the surface polyethylene, so the intermediate layer and the surface layer also have a good adhesion performance. The main function of the polyethylene surface layer is to provide mechanical protection and anti-corrosion. It has the same function as the traditional two-layer structure polyethylene anti-corrosion layer.


3PE anticorrosive steel pipe structure: one layer of epoxy powder (FBE > 100um), two layers of adhesive (copolymer adhesive) 170 ~ 250um, and three layers of polyethylene (PE) 2.5 ~ 3.7mm. These three materials are closely integrated and firmly combined with the steel pipe to form an excellent anti-corrosion coating.


2PE anticorrosive steel pipe: the pipe has two layers of PE anticorrosive structure, one layer of adhesive (AD) and two layers of polyethylene (PE). The two materials are integrated, and the thickness of each layer is the same as that of the three layers of PE

advantage:

3. It also has good corrosion resistance and impact resistance under low temperature conditions, and PE water absorption is low (less than 0.01%).


4. At the same time, it has high epoxy strength, low water absorption of PE and good softness of hot melt adhesive, and has high anti-corrosion reliability


The disadvantage is that compared with the cost of other joint coating materials, the cost is high.
